Trains entertain so I can maintain

Watching Chugginton while I wait for Pizza

There was a sleep over here last week. One of those families where we aren’t sure if we are good friends because the parents like each other so much or because the kids like each other. Good problems either way. While their parents were away the boys hung out with us for 3 days and I had the chance to test drive having more kids. One morning saw me dropping off a total of 5 kids at 3 different schools. The times matched up to make it simple enough but by the time I made it back home to log in to work I was already exhausted. By the time I had to make the first pick up I had barely scratched the surface of my current project so I was glad to see a package from Chugginton waiting for us at the door. It was Brewster’s Icy Escapade Set, a wooden train set for the little man to play with while I tried to get back work before heading out to pick the rest of the kids.

We got the tracks all setup and my little helper told me a story about trains in the mountains while I tested exporting grade books from online classes. He had a ton more fun than I did and before we knew it was time to head out. We made it back with the rest of the kids and they all fought over who got to play with the train set until they figured out how to use other roads to make a bigger scene. Soon the living room was alive with planes, trains, and automobiles and I was able to finish my work.

The fine folks at Chugginton have a Wooden Railway set to give to one lucky reader. Just enter below before October 29th for your chance to win.

My kid loves trains and those wooden train tracks too. Not sure if he found that love himself or if I love trains more than I thought…

Well, we have Netflix, so there’s that. But I sit with them when they watch. And it means my 4yo now knows how to change batteries on the Wii remote, so he’s already smarter than my mom.

Glad to see another parent multi-tasking in such creative ways. Gave a shout out to you the other day to another SAHD 🙂 That was one of my ploys to be able to have adult conversation: take our boys to the museum and let them run amuck.
